Verizon’s Answer to the iPhone

3 October 2007 0 views No Comment

Just in time for the Holiday season Verizon will begin to launch several new phones, one of which looks conspicuously like the iphone. The LG Voyager boosts a large external touch screen along with a full flip qwerty keyboard. Although Verizon would deny any rumors that this is their attempt to compete with the iphone this new phone seems to incorporate many of the same features…

Based on some early reports we see that this phone includes the same type of flick finger control to navigate through long lists of contacts and breeze through media much like we do now on the iphone. Like other Verizon phones it opens to display a full physical keyboard with another internal screen.

Whether this is Verizon’s answer to the iPhone or not it doesn’t seem to matter as the iPhone has simply started a new revolution in cell phone design and in my honest opinion is welcome in the market place. With more competition driving features and requests maybe we’ll start to see some of the missing features come to the iphone sooner than later.

LG Voyager at a glance:

  • Full touch screen controls on front
  • Opens to display a physical keyboard and internal screen
  • 2.0 megapixel camera
  • Picture, Text and video messaging
  • microSD slot for up to 8gigs of memory
  • Built in speakers

Three other new phones will be introduced by Verizon in the coming months as well…

LG Venus

Samsung Juke

Blackberry Pearl
