3G iPhone available in 2008

At a press conference Randall Stephenson, CEO of AT&T announced that a 3G version of the iphone would be available in 2008.

However, Stephenson was very vague in providing any kind of time line, but it now seems that this will be a definite move for both AT&T and Apple sometime in 2008.

This really comes as no surprise given the amount of carriers holding off on taking on the iphone until they provide 3G. For example, Telefonica in Spain was reportedly not releasing the iphone until 3G is enabled.
