Free iPhone/iPod Touch to ACU’s Freshman

Freshman attending Abilene Christian University this fall will be receiving a free iPhone or an iPod Touch.

The university has developed 15 web applications for these two media devices to help students receive homework alerts, answer in-class surveys and quizzes, get directions to their professors’ offices, and check their meal and account balances among other things.

We know of a few schools that provide laptops but ACU is the first University to give out iPhones to their students. This, according to Yahoo Tech, is simply just the start. Universities across the country will be evaluating AMU’s program and could soon follow in their footsteps.
