iPhone Application Review
So I have updated to firmware 2.0 on my iPhone. As most of you know, and those who don’t where they heck have you been the last few weeks, that you can now put third party applications on your iPhone.
I have started to test some of the applications and can give you a brief review of the ones I have used.
AIM
This application is self explanatory for most. It allows you to communicate via instant message using your iphone. This was a missing feature for a long while, and one we enjoyed with your jail broke phone for sometime. Being as it’s direct from AOL it does come with a pretty stable environment, the ability to update your profile, but you can’t stay online when you exit the application.
REMOTE (iTunes)
This app kicks a$$. It allows you to remotely control your itunes via your iphone through your home network. For example, I have my computer in another room or even across the room, I want to play songs but don’t feel like getting off the couch. Simply click on the remote and you have full access to your library. The songs play through the computer (not your iphone) so you can rock out without having to move.
PANDORA
Like Music? If so, get this free app. Basically you set up channels based on your favorite artist or song. The channels plays music from that artist and also picks other music like it to play. It uses some sort of algorithm that picks songs based on your selected artist so the music is in the same genre. You can also vote if you like the song they are playing so they know to keep it in the queue or remove it.
To be continued…
