Box.net iPhone App
Box.net’s iPhone app went live on the iTunes app store late last week. It’s a compliment to Box.net’s service for storing, accessing and sharing all your files and content online.
According to Sean Lindo, Community Manager with Box.net. this *free app* gives iPhone users the ability to:
- Scroll through and view all the files and folders stored on the Box.net accounts. For viewing, the Box app supports all the file types the iPhone supports, which of course include Microsoft Office files, PDFs, photos, audio and video
- Share individual files or entire folders of files stored on their Box.net accounts with any of their iPhone contacts
- Snap pictures, upload them to Box and share them with any of their iPhone contacts, all within the Box.net application. You can also upload pictures stored in the iPhone’s Photos library to your Box.net account
- Monitor updates to your Box.net account, such as files or folders added by you and people that are collaborating and contributing to your Box.net account
- Automatically log-in to their Box.net account when they launch the app
If iPhone users don’t already have a Box.net account, they can visit www.Box.net to *sign up for a free account *that includes:
- 1 GB of storage space
- Individual file size uploads of up to 25 MB
- Bandwidth of 10 GB per month
Of course, we also offer individual, professional and enterprise paid plans that include more storage (5 to 15 GB and up), individual file size uploads of up to 1 GB and unlimited monthly bandwidth starting at $7.95/month. All of our paid plans come with a 14-day free trial as well.
“We’re happy to say that Box.net has more than 2 million users now, and we know that customers with an iPhone will be pivotal in establishing Box as the preferred app for storing and sharing all their files and content on the mobile platform. We’re excited!”
