When I saw the previews for the new Sherlock Holmes movie I must admit I was pretty excited.  When Warner Bros released the Sherlock Holmes game for the iphone I’ll admit I was skeptical but it did not disappoint.

Sherlock Holmes is the latest game to come out of Warner Bros and like most of the others it’s a lot of fun.  As you move through the game you’re introduced to game play filled with a mix of action, adventure and a lot of investigative work that will actually make you think.

Once inside the shoes of the World’s Greatest Detective, you must use Sherlock’s keen wit and flattering charm to prove a man innocent of murder, without revealing your sources. The investigation will take you into the seedy, gritty side of Victorian London, overflowing with deceit and disregard for basic codes of decent behavior as you traverse the deadly back alleys. Scour the environments… Uncover the Clues… Reveal the truth in The Case of the Innocent Man.

Overall, this game is one you won’t finish in a few minutes and something you can continue saving and come back to until you solve the Case of the Innocent Man.

  • Authentic Sherlock Experience – Alongside Dr. Watson, uncover clues, interrogate suspects, solve the case!
  • Stunning Visuals – Gritty, seedy side of 1890’s London is brought to life with exceptional art-style, and breathtaking graphics
  • Immersive Environments – 3-D environments bring the genuine Sherlock Holmes atmosphere to life
  • Compelling Mini-Games – Gain crucial information through insightful mini-games
      • Insights – Find Hidden Clues using Sherlock’s keen Insight, and put them together in Sherlock’s Mind to unravel the mystery
      • Puzzle Boxing – When Sherlock fights it is a game of wit and mental faculty, finding and exploiting his opponent’s weaknesses to neutralize the threat
      • Lock Picking – Find the perfect path through a lock’s inner workings to lift each of the tumblers, and gain access to the secrets the locks guard against
      • Foot Chase – Wind your way through London’s streets in pursuit of justice. To emerge victorious is often the result of outmaneuvering those you pursue

Tips and Tricks for Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Innocent Man (Added 01/27/10)

  • Retrace Your Steps!  If you feel like your investigation is stalling out, try revisiting previous location. Make sure you talk to everyone, as many clues are uncovered in conversation.
  • Tap Into Sherlock’s Mind! Touch an objective to bring it to Sherlock’s Mind. You will need to complete the chosen objective before you can put the clue to mind by selecting it and tapping “Put to Mind”.
  • Locate the Screwdriver! If you find that you are lacking this essential tool for assembling the Electric Gramophone, you would do well to revisit locations. Rotterdam was known to be quite the tinkerer. Too bad he lies chilling in the Morgue.
  • Pick the Locks! When picking locks, you will need to discover a path that connects all of the tumblers between the start and the finish.
  • Find the Copper Coil! If you are having problems finding the copper coil for the Electric Gramophone, be sure to scour Pennington Place.
