iPhone Game Review: Kings and Servants
Almost every college aged person would know of the iPhone game Kings and Servants if they used it’s common name, Asshole. “Asshole” or Kings and Servants is a very popular card game often associated with drinking. The game is easy to play and Kings and Servants does a great job bringing this to life on the iPhone.
Kings and Servants is played by dealing out the entire deck of cards to the group of people playing. After which you simply need to continue placing a higher card down in the center, if you can’t beat the card placed down you are skipped. The first person to get rid of all their cards is the King, next is the prince, then worker and finally servant.
The Kings and Servants iPhone game offers lots of additional features including:
- Multiplayer with live people
- Chat with the people you’re playing with at the table
- Add players to your favorites so you can when they are online to play again
- Connect with Facebook
I realize there are lots of rules of “asshole” or Kings and Servants depending on who you play with but there are a few core rules that are missing from this game that I’d like to see get added in a future update:
- If you put down the same card as the one being played it skips the next person
- 2′s clear the pile to you
- Jump in social, where a player, out of turn, can place in the remaining cards to complete a set
Overall Kings and Servants is a great start to taking an old game and bringing it to the iphone. Who knows maybe college kids will be sitting around with their iphones and play in their dorm instead of trying to find a deck of cards.
