iPhone OS 4.0 Might Finally Allow Internet Tethering
Internet Tethering is a long awaited feature that was announced, what seems like decades ago, but has not yet been available to AT&T customers. However, in the newest version of the iPhone 4.0 beta an internet tethering option has been spotted.
Tethering is the use of a mobile device such as a mobile phone to supply Internet access for another device which is otherwise unconnected, using the mobile device as a modem.[1] This can be done through Bluetooth wireless technology or cables (such as USB).
It appears, based on this photo, that in order to activate tethering you’ll need to contact AT&T. Either way we’re happy to see it finally be released. The one question that we have now is will it tether to the ipad?
